Tips for building body for your hair

Keep your hair clean by using shampoos that are formulated to add body and fullness to the hair, and conditioners that are formulated to be light and not weigh the hair down.

Try a leave-in conditioner in place of a regular rinse-through. Leave-in conditioners tend to be lighter and less likely to weigh down the hair.

Another good way to add body to hair is through deep-conditioning and restructuring treatments called protein packs. These treatments are formulated to penetrate the hair's cuticle layer and allow the proteins in the treatment to be absorbed into the cortex, strengthening the hair and giving it more substance. Protein packs can improve the hair's elasticity, and in some cases even enlarges the individual hairshaft for a limited time due to the swelling. Protein packs should be applied as needed to make the hair strong, then applied once a month.

You can also ask your stylist to give you long layers! Long layers will give your hair movement and a lot of volume.
